GPTHuman is a powerful writing tool designed to help people communicate more clearly and naturally. It is not intended to enable cheating, misrepresentation, or any other form of academic misconduct.

1. Our position on academic integrity

GPTHuman supports the responsible use of artificial intelligence. AI can assist with writing, revision, and communication, but it should not replace learning, critical thinking, or original effort.

We do not endorse using GPTHuman to misrepresent authorship, conceal unauthorized AI assistance, or violate the academic integrity policies of a school, university, instructor, testing organization, or other educational institution.

2. Prohibited academic uses

GPTHuman should not be used to:

• Submit AI-generated or rewritten material as original work when AI assistance is prohibited or must be disclosed.
• Conceal unauthorized AI use from an instructor, evaluator, or educational institution.
• Complete assignments, examinations, take-home tests, admissions materials, or graded assessments dishonestly or on someone else’s behalf.
• Circumvent plagiarism detection, AI-use policies, authorship requirements, or other academic safeguards.
• Fabricate research, citations, sources, data, evidence, quotations, or personal experiences.
• Misrepresent another person’s ideas, analysis, or writing as your own.

3. Responsible ways to use GPTHuman

Subject to the rules that apply to your work, responsible uses may include:

• Improving the clarity and readability of writing you created yourself.
• Refining grammar, tone, sentence structure, and flow.
• Revising your own draft after receiving feedback.
• Practicing writing or language skills and learning from suggested changes.
• Preparing ungraded notes, outlines, or study materials.
• Supporting accessibility or communication needs.

These examples are not automatically permitted in every context. Your institution, instructor, employer, or publisher may impose different or more restrictive rules.

4. Your work should remain your work

Rewriting text does not automatically make its ideas, arguments, research, or analysis your own. You remain responsible for the work you submit and for understanding its contents.

Before submitting content created or revised with GPTHuman, you should:

• Review the final text carefully.
• Verify facts, claims, calculations, quotations, and citations.
• Ensure the work reflects your own understanding and contribution.
• Cite sources appropriately.
• Disclose AI assistance whenever required.

5. Know the rules that apply

Rules concerning AI-assisted writing vary between institutions, courses, instructors, assignments, and jurisdictions. Before using GPTHuman for academic work, review the policies that apply to you. If the rules are unclear, ask your instructor or institution before using the service.
